Newest to BMW’s Vision Next 100 concept line is an all-electric motorbike called the BMW Motorrad Concept Link. The electric scooter made it’s debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, an Italian motor festival.
Similar to it’s predecessor that had a low-slung, stretched out body and a flat seat with a diagonally rising front. According to BMW, the side panels don’t totally cover the side section at the rear to improve aerodynamics.
This electric motorbike guarantees fast acceleration and easy handling, and a reverse gear. This will ensure that the bike is easy to handle and ideal to park in tight city-like parking spaces. At this point, there has been no reveal as to the motorbike's specs such as range and horsepower.
BMW intends for the bike to keep riders connected in ways like knowing what is in the rider’s calendar so that it will be able to predict the rider’s next destination. As a result, the motorbike will be able to plan the fastest route or even select the most scenic route. On the windshield, navigation and battery information are projected in the rider’s field of vision. The touch sensitive surface of the display panel also controls infotainment, connectivity, and general information. There are programmable, touch enabled buttons on the handlebars that allow the rider to access their preferred and frequently used functions without having to remove their hands from the handlebars.
This is BMW’s second Motorrad concept. BMW’s devotion to all electric vehicles could mean big things for the company in the future. Stay tuned as we follow what’s next in BMW’s exciting and always-growing lineup!
