With that being said, let’s take a look at what you can expect from the 2016 BMW 3 Series!

Introducing the 2016 BMW 340i

If you’re looking for a sporty sedan with more oomph under the hood than the 335i, here’s the all-new BMW 340i to give you what you want!

That’s because the 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine delivers 320 hp (20 more hp than the 335i’s previous engine) and 330 lb/ft of torque. It’s paired with 8-speed Steptronic transmission that allows the 340i to go from 0-60 mph in just 4.8 seconds.

The 340i xDrive lowers that acceleration time to 4.6 seconds, so you can feel the power when driving on the highway, especially if you use the Sport+ mode. You can opt for 6-speed manual transmission for a more interactive driving experience.

Meet the 2016 BMW 330e

That’s right! The “e” means electric and that’s exactly what you’ll get in the BMW 330e plug-in hybrid once it hits the road in 2016.

These are preliminary numbers, but the 2016 BMW 330e will deliver 250 hp, 310 lb/ft of torque, 6.1 second 0-to-60-mph acceleration time, a top speed of 140 mph and up to 22 miles of zero-emissions driving in all-electric mode.

New 2016 BMW 3 Series Features & Options

As there is with any vehicle, you’ll find some updates in the amenity lineup. Let’s briefly run down some of what’s changed for the 2016 model year in the 3 Series.

Track Handling Package: This new option for gas-powered models makes every turn smoother thanks to:

• Variable Sport Steering
• Adaptive M Suspension
• M Sport Brakes w/ high-temperature Euro brake pads mounted to blue calipers
• 18” Orbit Grey light alloy wheels w/ Michelin Super sport tires (19” wheels available for the 340i)

Navigation System: Over-the-air map updates are offered for your convenience if you get this feature.

LED Headlights: These come standard in the 340i and are optional in the 320i, 328i & 328d models.

Sport Line: This now comes standard in the 328i, 328d and 340i, even if you opt for xDrive.
