Last year, at the 2016 Paris Auto Show, BMW debuted a new concept car; sleek, fuel efficient, and ready to take on the urban jungle. This summer, BMW will officially debut that vehicle; a BMW X2. This beautiful machine is a rebodied derivative of the BMW X1. The difference? The BMW X2 will be distinct in its own styling from grille to trunk. The front grille is inverted, giving it a more solid and sturdy look while, the new front headlights are slimmer and meaner. The tail lights for this vehicle are slimmer, wrapping around the back of the vehicle. The roof on this vehicle is taller making for larger windows. Overall, these adjustments to a typical BMW SUV/SAV has us very excited to see how this beauty will look in person.
The sneak peek photos of the car are staged deep in what is presumed to be its natural habitat; the city. This vehicle is designed and geared towards busier drivers that may lead more active lifestyles. BMW has given us a car sleek enough to power through a daily commute with the streamlined and low slung design of a coupe but perfectly blended with the sturdy, durability of it's X line of SUV/ SAV vehicles.
Under the hood itself, expect to see the same 2.0L turbo engine from the BMW X1. This means 228 horsepower and 258 lbs-ft of torque. The standard transmission will be an 8 speed automatic with an optional 6 speed manual for select models. The X2 will be a front wheel drive powered vehicle with an all wheel drive option. All in all, we are expecting this vehicle to be an excellent addition to BMW’s line up. Hopefully, BMW will give us an official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.Keep your eyes peeled for what’s coming next with this BMW X2!
